Polishing is not a layer that hides defects. It refines the clear-coat surface to reduce marks that are compatible with its thickness and condition. Inspection and paint-depth measurement therefore come before any major correction decision.

The number of passes, the compounds used and the checking time depend on what the clear coat can still take and on the finish you are aiming for. Black paint marked by automatic washes and pale paint that has simply gone dull do not work at the same pace.

A 100% correction is not always desirable. Even new or recently repainted paint can retain very slight defects visible only under professional lighting and to a trained eye. ISA's priority is the best reasonably achievable result without unnecessarily compromising the integrity of the clear coat. The proposal is built on the stated size and declared condition; if inspection reveals paint that is noticeably more damaged, repainted, fragile or different from the information supplied, ISA proposes an adjustment before continuing — no supplement is added without your approval.
